LITTLE ITALY
NIGHTLIFE GUIDE

What's open, what's worth it, and where the night actually goes.

Friends out drinking under Christmas lights at Waterfront in Little Italy at night

Little Italy after 9pm is a different neighborhood than Little Italy at lunch. Here's how locals work the block.

After dinner: the first drink

You just ate on India Street. The next move is a real bar, not another wine list. Waterfront Bar & Grill is two blocks west on Kettner — cold drafts, full cocktails, no waiting list. We're open until 2am every night, which most of the neighborhood is not.

Late night: who stays open

Most Little Italy restaurants close their kitchen by 10. Waterfront's kitchen runs through last call. If you want a burger at midnight, this is the move.

The dog-friendly patio

Half the neighborhood walks a dog. The patio takes them — water bowls out, no questions. It's why you see the same dogs three nights a week.

Game day, fight night, big games

Every screen, every game. Padres, Chargers/Bolts crowd, NFL Sundays, UFC pay-per-views, World Cup. Loud when it's supposed to be, quiet enough to talk when it isn't.

The unwritten rule

You can plan a Little Italy night out however you want. It tends to end the same place.
