HOW TO FIND WATERFRONT BAR & GRILL IN LITTLE ITALY
Waterfront Bar & Grill sits on the corner of Kettner Boulevard and Grape Street, right at the western edge of San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood. We've been at this same address — 2044 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101 — since 1933, which makes us the oldest continuously operating bar in San Diego. Look for the historic neon sign and the open garage doors.
Getting Here
Getting here: We don't have a parking lot, so most regulars rideshare or walk. We're a two-minute drive from the I-5 freeway (Front Street exit) and five minutes from the airport.
By trolley: The MTS Blue and Orange Line trolley both stop at Little Italy / County Center, a four-minute walk from our front door.
From your hotel: If you're staying in the Gaslamp Quarter, East Village, or near the convention center, we're a 10–15 minute walk or a $7 rideshare. Most Marina District and Embarcadero hotels are even closer.
From the airport: San Diego International (SAN) is exactly 1.8 miles away — about 6 minutes by car or rideshare. We're one of the closest "real" bars to the terminal, which is why we get a lot of pre-flight and post-flight regulars.
Hours & What to Expect
We're open every single day from 8:00 AM to 2:00 AM — including weekends and holidays. The full kitchen runs through the entire day, from breakfast at 8 AM through late-night burgers after midnight. Happy hour pricing runs every weekday afternoon; see our happy hour guide for current specials.
No reservations, no dress code, no cover charge. Walk in, grab a stool or a booth, and somebody will take care of you. Larger groups (8+) are welcome — just call ahead at (619) 232-9656 so we can pull tables together.
What's Nearby
The Little Italy Mercato farmer's market runs Saturday mornings two blocks east. The waterfront Embarcadero, Maritime Museum, and USS Midway are a 10-minute walk west. Petco Park and the Padres stadium are a 15-minute walk south — we're one of the closest neighborhood bars for pre-game and post-game crowds.
