WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AT THE WATERFRONT

The Waterfront has been a Little Italy institution since 1933, and most of our staff have been with us for years — some for over a decade. We're a small, tight crew that takes care of each other, gets along with our regulars, and shares a sense of humor about the chaos of bar life. If you want a job where you'll be a faceless number, this isn't it. If you want a place where the people you work with actually become friends, you'll fit right in.

Who We Hire

We hire bartenders, servers, line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers, and barbacks. Experience helps, especially behind the bar, but attitude matters more. We've trained plenty of great bartenders from scratch — what we can't teach is showing up on time, hustling during a rush, and being kind to guests and coworkers when it's slammed.

How to Apply

Skip the online forms. The best way to get hired here is to walk in during our Tuesday open hours (2–4 PM), hand a resume to whoever's behind the bar, and have a five-minute conversation. We hire based on the in-person impression — that's how the bar has worked since 1933, and it's still how we do it.

What We Offer

Competitive pay (hourly plus tips on tipped roles), a busy room that means real money, and flexible scheduling. Shifts span breakfast through 2 AM close, so there's usually a slot that fits your life. We pour staff drinks at the end of shift, feed the team during long ones, and try to make this a place where people actually want to come to work.
