WHERE TO WATCH
THE WORLD CUP
IN SAN DIEGO
Full audio. Real screens. Cold pitchers. None of that "music's on, sorry" nonsense.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off June 11 and runs through July 19. With matches across the US, Canada, and Mexico, San Diego is going to be loud. Here's where to actually watch.
1. Waterfront Bar & Grill — Little Italy
Every match, full audio, no skipping the commentary. We open early for morning kickoffs (we're open 8am daily anyway) and the kitchen runs through extra time. Pitchers, well drinks, and a kitchen that knows what a half-time rush looks like. San Diego's oldest bar — and your home base for the tournament.
USA game specials
Every time the USA plays, we run game-day specials at the bar — cold pitchers, well drinks, and shareable kitchen plates. Sound on, USA scarves welcome. Walk in 30–60 minutes early for the big group-stage and knockout matches.
2. Country-specific soccer bars
San Diego has English-style pubs and Mexico-supporter spots if you want a crowd that bleeds one color. Worth seeking out for big knockout matches.
3. What to look for in a World Cup bar
- Full audio. Non-negotiable. If they keep the music on, leave.
- Early hours. Some matches kick off at 8am Pacific.
- Multiple screens, no obstructed views.
- Food past halftime. Kitchens close early at a lot of bars.
- No cover, no reservations for group matches — save the planning for the final.
Join us at Waterfront for every match
